Briston and Hunworth Art Trail

Every year during the second half of May, as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival, artists from all over Norfolk invite you into their studios - garages, sheds, kitchens, caravans, spare rooms, village halls or whatever spare space they can find to create in.

As part of this event the Briston and Hunworth artists got together in 2008 and created an art trail. Since then some of the artists on the trail remain the same, some have left, some have joined and one left and came back because he missed us!

You can find our two villages in North Norfolk, just south of the lovely Georgian market town of Holt, through the beautiful undulating countryside of the Glaven Valley. There are three public houses on the trail route: The Hunny Bell (with restaurant) in the centre of Hunworth; the JH Stracey (with restaurant) on Edgefield Road in Briston and the Green Man (no food) on Hall Street, Briston.

In 2010 we number nine artists on our trail, which runs from May 22nd - June 6th. The majority of opening dates are the same for all nine artists:

May 22-23, May 29-31 and June 5-6, from 10am-5pm,

but there are some slight differences - see trail detail of individual artists for exact dates and times.

The four Hunworth artists are all exhibiting together in Hunworth Village Hall, while the five Briston artists will be opening their own studios, making a total of six venues. On the trail this year we have two photographers, two printmakers, a glassmaker and four painters. We all have very diverse approaches to our art, making the trail varied and interesting. We are all exhibiting semi-professional or professional artists and are happy to talk about our inspirations and techniques.

Although we are all very different to each other, we all share motivation and passion for creating art - and we would like to share that with you.
